It was really lovely connecting with the founder of a nonprofit who lives across the country. We spoke about challenges we're facing as nonprofit professionals, as well as things we are excited about for our organizations in 2024!

I enjoyed speaking with Kim. It made me feel less alone. The conversation validated that my challenges are not isolated. Topics included lack of capacity, inability to plan ahead, being reactive, being short staffed. It was also nice to speak with someone working within the nonprofit sector in the area that I least enjoy - development.

Great chat with a nonprofiteer truly changing the world for children in his community! Loved the passion and fire this has given the rest of my day.

My first Hive chat and it was AMAZING! I was lucky enough to get paired with Tasha and we had such a seamless, easy, flowing conversation around non-profits, The Nonprofit Hive, and the building community.

Meeting with Elle from the Nonprofit Hive was nothing short of energizing and motivating the work as a non- profiteer! I was taken back by how easy, laid, back and relatable it was to chat about our passion for non- profits. I know I've made a friend and ally for life!

These weekly chats are getting better and better and better. Today was so fluid and awesome, and I learned a ton about the unique mission and personal passion of my Hive-r. These Thursday conversations get me so excited for the work I do in the social sector — and looking forward to the next Thursday!

Yet another great chat with a non-profit Hiver!! It's such a gift to be able to reach across geography and industry to meet like-minded (and like-hearted) folks.

I hesitated to join a Hive chat for a while, worried I would somehow be found out. But I am so glad I finally signed up for one! Our conversation was so validating; I've been at the same non-profit for nearly 6 years, experienced a lot of burnout, and over time, my relationship to work has grown toxic. It's difficult to talk about how to move forward from this with family and friends who don't have non-profit experience. I am deeply connected to the goals of the organization and have been an integral part of its success, but actions of those in power lead me to believe I am not valuable enough to be promoted, paid more, or listened to when I have identified issues and solutions (that sometimes cost money but would lead to better outcomes and sustainability). This was just what I needed to work on shifting how I view and value myself first...and start planning my exit if nothing changes.

This was so inspiring! I feel like I just opened my brain up to a totally new realm of thinking about fundraising and development in this 30 minute conversation!

Meeting like-minded individuals from the non-profit has been such a pleasure. It's great to hear about their non-profit journey and learn from each other. Personally, it has also been a reminder of why we do what we do in this sector and the impact we're making together. These chats have been an inspiration, especially on days that feel a bit difficult.
